Black and white portrait of Thos. Meehan of Germantown. Meehan had his nurseries on the east side of Germantown Avenue, souh of Gorgas Lane through much of the second half of the 19th Century. These nurseries supplied much of the floral material used to landscape many of the larger estates in the Germantown, Mount Airy and Chestnut Hill neighborhoods. Today, Meehan Avenue is named in honor of Mr. Meehan.Dimensions
