Description

Pieced quilt of the "Honeycomb" or Grandma's Flower Garden variation pattern. Each flower is comprised of hexagonal squares, twelve create an outer pink ring, six create the inner ring ( colors of materials are light brown, blue plaids, stripes, and printed material) and a center hexagonal piece is a printed pink material. There are six flowers wide and alternating three to four flowers wide. The corner flowers have dark brown/ white middle bands and the center flower have a dark blue middle band/ring. It appears that the flowers are appliqued and pieced together. There is a large white border, now faded and stained, which has feather quilting in addition to rows of straight quilting. The quilting on the flowers is inverted 'v's' and small oblong diamonds. The backing of the quilt is all white. The binding is part of the backing which is turned under on the front.
