Card found with quilt: "Exhibitor Caroline Allinson" "This coverlet was made by Sarah Brautingham and was presented to Elizabeth Alsop at the time of her marriage in 1839. A white velvet quilt, so the story goes, was given to the Marquis de la Fayette for which $1000.00 was paid S. B. by the ladies of Philadelphia".Dimensions
