Photograph a [top]: is a photograph of the Revolutionary War Memorial in Vernon Park. The memorial is shown prominent in the foreground resting on a stone "platform". The memorial is constructed of smooth stone and is surmounted by a rounded arch. Above that arch the monumnent continues for several feet and is topped by a flat level of stone. In the center of the main portion is a "copper" tablet with probable inscriptions of the names of Germantown residents who participated in the Revolutionary War. Behind the Monument across Germantown Avenue are various brick buildings, which seem to contain store fronts on the ground floor.
Photograph b [bottom]: is a photograph of the Monument to the Founders of Germantown, also located in Vernon Park at 5708 Germantown Avenue. The monument has also been referred to (locally) as the Pastorius monument. The photograph shows the monument prominently in the fioreground. The monument is constructed of white stone/marble. Pictured sitting atop the monument is a sculpted figure of Daniel Francis Pastorius. Beneath the Pastorius figure and in front of the monument are sculpted figures of other prominent founders of Germantown. At the base of the monument is an inscription chiseled into the base. The monument itself "sits" on a "platform" with a number of steps . In the background is a 4-5 story brick building with a sign anchored on top of the building advertising a cafeteria open to the public
