Sampler made by Sarah Faust in 1827. No border to this sampler. There are three rows of alphabets and numbers. Row 1 "A-R" #6 Susan Earl pattern, the 'S' is stitched backwards, Row 3, "8-12". Numbers are stitched in light brown thread. The alphabets alternate between two letters in one color and the next two in a different shade. Below the alphabers and numbers are several motifs; a dog, man, bird, deer, strawberry, tree and a swan. The name is near the center of the sampler, stitched in capital letters with blue thread "Sarah Faust Her Work, Age 11 1827." Beneath the name are several baskets of flowers, tulips, strawberry borders, and birds. Colors of sampler are blue, green, red, white, beige, yellow.Dimensions
