Sampler on linen material, unfinished. Silk thread used no name or date on the sampler. Top and bottom border is a "triangle" shape flower with a double row of flower stems and leaves. Border along the sides is a strawberry border, also with dark and light stems. There are four rows of alphabets.
Row 1 A-M #4 Susan Earl pattern
Row 2 N-W #4 Susan Earl pattern
Row 3 In the center- "X-Z" #4 Susan Earl pattern; on either side are lower case letters sewn over one thread "a-n" then "o-z"
Row 4 in the center l,m,n sewn over one thread but larger than row 3 letters. In the bottom lower corner there are the letters "HO and part of another letter shaped like D". There are also a small double row of sold stitches below the letters. Colors of the sampler are green, (light, olive and dark), rose, pale pink, maroon, brown and beige.
