This book incorporates a listing of public hangings, a narrative story of hanging in Pennsylvania, a list of persons sentenced to death who "cheated" the gallows, a short survey of lynching cases and other pertinent materials.
It should be noted that the call number of this book is incorrect. The author's last name is Teeters, not Tetters. However, the Tetters terminology has been alllowed to stand to correspond with the current card catalog.
A bookplate found Inside the Front Cover indicates this book was presented to The Germantown Historical Society by Edwin Iwanicki in February, 1967.
