Shawl. Woman's shawl; off-white silk; satin-stitch floral pattern embroidery around sides; most elaborate embroidery in two corners; 14-inch band of knotting and fringe; Spanish-style. Dimensions including knotted band and fringe: 96-inches square. Good condition - some staining in center. Dated 1889. Worn by Margaret R. Armstrong, the donor's mother, at her wedding to Andrew G. Sommer, on June 6, 1889. Transcribed from original accession record.
