Description

Crest rail mahogany veneer, exposed wool seat rail which continues up scroll arm. Front lion paw feet with scroll and acanthus leaf above- rear feet cover made from wool rose pattern coverlit red, dark and light blue on light brown background.

Owner: Newcomb J. Montgomery Accession Book, 1983- 1988: Sofa Greek Revival, Mahogany C. 1825- Scroll arms lions paw feet (one replaced). Reupholstered ca. 1950s (?) with Chester Co. woven coverlet rose pattern, in red, white and blue. Owned by Pennock Family, Oxford, PA. (family of donor's late wife).
