2013.13.1.54a-cDescription
Clippings and memorabilia from World War I scrapbook compiled by Dr. Naaman H. Keyser, page 52
The contents of page 52 continue with the discussion begun on page 51. Two articles and a photograph are present. The top article [52a] includes a photograph of the C-5 dirigible and the caption "Lieutenant Little, U. S. N., Who Was Forced to Jump for his Life, Can Be Seen Still in the Car."
Below this is a newspaper clipping, 52b, with the headline "Meteorologist For Dirigible," which notes that "Lieutenant Clarence N. Keyser, son of Dr. N[aaman] H. Keyser, of High street, has been assigned as meteorologist on board the cruiser Chicago, which has been acting as a convoy ship for the dirigible, the C-5, in the attempt to make the air voyage across the Atlantic ocean. Lieutenant Keyser, during the war was stationed at La Crosic and Paimbouef, France, as naval aerographer and later was engaged in anti-submarine work at Guiparva. Upon his return to this country, being desirous of doing work in his line as horticulturalist, he was assigned as a landscape architect in the Department of Yards and Docks and drew the plans for planting at the naval bases at San Diego and Cape May, which await the passing of appropriations."
Adjacent to this is a photograph, presumably of Clarence N. Keyser [52c].
