2013.13.1.55a-bDescription
Clippings and memorabilia from World War I scrapbook compiled by Dr. Naaman H. Keyser, page 53
The contents of page 53 consist of two photographs of World War I-era dirigibles. The top photo, 53a, shows a detailed view of the "ill-fated C-5 which voyaged alone into oblivion."
The bottom photo, 53b, is of the dirigible R-34, which the unknown paper notes "This mammoth British dirigible left England on July 2, and after 108 hours landed at Mineola, Long Island. Her return trip to Pulham, England, was made in seventy-five hours and three minutes. The actual crossing from shore to shore was sixty-three hours and five minutes. Major Scott was in command. The balloon is seen landing on Roosevelt Field."
