Image a is a print from a sketch by James Pennell. 1881, "On the Road above Fisher's Lane." The Mechlin House, 4935 Germantown Avenue, is on the left. The Dedier House, 4925 Germantown Avenue is on the right.
Image b is a photographic print of Belfield, the home of Charles Wilson Peale. Captions indicate that the house sits back from Clarkson Avenue, that Peale sold it to William Logan Fisher who gave it to his daughter Sarah when she married William Wister, that they lived in the house for 64 years, that Mrs John Wister owned the house in 1901 and it was later acquired by Mr. and Mrs. James Starr.
