Photograph is a view of the Ship House located at 6338 Germantown Avenue (see also catalog number 2013.5.1.30b). The house is a three story structure with three dormer windows built into the roof. It has a sloping roof in the rear which extends down to the second story and below. An extension of the house is visible in the rear behind the tall brick chimney. A "wide" overhang is visible over the front entrance and is decorated with lattice work. Germantown Avenue is visible in the foreground and and appears as unpaved. A stone/brick sidewalk is visible in the photograph. Other houses are visible along Germantown Avenue beyond the Ship House. To the left of the Ship House is a tall fence enclosing the Ship House property . Shutters are visible on all windows (other than the dormer windows). First story shutters are solid panel; second story shutters are louvered shutters.Photograph Details
