A single newspaper clipping glued to this page, clipped from an unknown and undated newspaper, bears the headline "The Two Letters," and continues with "Two women lost their sons in battle, One was an American, the other a German mother. The spirit of America is shown in the tender, human letter from President Lincoln. The spirit of autocracy is shown in the heartless letter of the Kaiser. It is that evil spirit that we have been fighting." The article then follows with the two letters.
