The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 1, Part 2- The Wissahickon
Page 173 contains two photographs:
(a, top) This photograph has a typed label: "Near Gypsy Lane." The photograph is colored and shows some boaters in the Wissahickon creek with the Drive path to the right. The Drive path is bordered by a wooden fence. Both banks of the creek are visible and are lined with mature trees and foliage in full bloom. Quite a number of people as well as a horse-drawn carriage are visible along the Drive path.
(b, bottom0 This photograph has a typed label: "Opposite Maple Springs Hotel." This photograph is identical to the photograph found on scrapbook page 132 (see catalogue number 2013.34.1.132c). In that photograph, the caption reads: "Near Ridge Road" and is hand-written with the date of 1904. The scene is in Winter with snow covering the ground. The path is bordered by a wooden fence and rises and bends in the distance. The creek would be found to the left but is not plainly visible.Collection
