The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon
Page 13 contains two photographs:
(a, top) This photograph has a typed labelt hat reads: "Ammadown's Mill" Jellett's note at the bottom reads: "F. McCann, 2-16-1905." The photograph shows Paper Mill Run (also known as Monoshone Creek) in the foreground. The banks are tree lined. In the background is a tall (stone?) wall with an arched opening in the center. Above tghe stone wall is viusible (mostly) the roof line of a building (Ammadown's Mill). The Run displays a "mirror image" of the scene reflected in the water. At the bottom is a pencil notation from Jellett: "F. McCann, 2-16-1905."
(b, bottom) This photograph has a typed label that reads: "Ammadown's Mill - from an old photograph." The photograph is very dark and somewhat "murky". What can be discerned is Paper Mill Run (Monoshone Creek) at the bottom foreground. On the opposite bank is a dense treeline. (It appears) that through the treeline a small portion of the stone building (Ammadown's Mill) can be seen.Collection
