The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon
Page 33 contains an article entitled "Historical Sketch of the Rittenhouse Paper Mill; The First Erected in America, A.D. 1690." The author is Horatio Gates Jones and the article was read before the Historical Society of Pennsylvania on May 11, 1863. The article begins on page number 315 and continues to page number 333. It is formally printed in what was probably an academic journal/magazine (unknown). As the article title implies, the article is a sketch of the history of the Rittenhouse Paper Mill from its founding to 1863. The author concludes by noting that the paper on which his original sketch was written was made at the Rittenhouse Paper Mill by the first paper maker and his son prior to the year 1699.
