The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon
Page 37 contains notes from Jellett:
Jellett relates that William Robard told him that the Rittenhouse Paper Mill stood on Monoshone Creek, a little north of the road to the school and near the David Rittenhouse birthplace. In Robard's time, it was known as "McKell's Mill."
Fell does not recall Markle's or McKell's mill, but suggested that Umsted would know all about it.
Wm. Umsted shared with Jellett that the mill stood between the David Rittenhouse birthplace and his own home on the hill. The same mill was last operated by McKell. The original paper mill stood on the creek between the "birthplace" and Township Line Road. This was the mill that washed away. (W. Umsted to E.C.J. 8-17-1905).Collection
