The article relates that the David Rittenhouse birthplace stands between Lincoln Drive and Paper Mill Run in the Wissahickon Valley, west of the original Roxborough Township Line. A paper mill was built at this site in 1690, was washed out and rebuilt again in 1702. Wm. Rittenhouse (the 1st) acquired full ownership after buying out his business partners' interest., and his son, Nicholas (Sr.), became owner upon his father's death. The article discusses old deeds and surveys to pinpoint the location of the mill(s) and also relates the Rittenhouse family genealogy.
