Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon Page 71 contains a photograph labeled "Pabst House." The photograph shows a three story residence with filigreed columns and fretwork on the first story front porch which extends the width of the house. A wooden fence extends across the "side" width of the house, apparently dividing the house from the adjacent building (on the left) which is likely a barn and/or an "outbuilding". According to Jellett's notes (see scrapbook page 69, 2013.34.3.69), the Pabst House was located in the general vicinity of "Rittenhousetown", near Rittenhouse Stree and what is now (2014) Lincoln Drive. According to Jellett, the house was "halfway up the hill on the way to the school (on the curve of the lane leading from Rittenhouse Street). The origin of this photograph and the date it was taken are not known.
