Page 74 contains notes by Jellett (transcribed by Harris as follows):
McKinney's Quarry
Daniel McKinney leased this hill in 1837 and opened the quarry which is known by his name until this day. This quarry furnished superior quality of split rock, steps, curbing, and the like being a speciality. A great part of Philadelphia and almost the entire city of Norristown was curbed by this quarry. The difference between the stone found there and that of the celebrated quarries at Conshohocken may be observed at "Blue Stone Bridge" where the walls are of Conshohocken stone and the coping from the McKinney Quarries.
Daniel McKinney for many years resided in the David Rittenhouse birthplace, and died in the year 1862. The business was continued by his sons.Collection
