Page 79 contains Jellett's notes (as transcribed by Harris as follows):
"On January 30, 1865, Rev. David Spencer, Pastor of the Baptist Church at Point Pleasant, Bucks County, Pa., was unanimously called to the pastorate of "The Roxborough Baptist Church". Mr. Spencer was young, active and energetic, and devoted himself to his work. The destitution of the surrounding neighborhood led him to engage in mission work in which he met with great success. On November 26, 1865, he began to preach at Rittenhousetown in the school house and a Sunday school was organized Jan. 3, 1869. For 5 years Oliver P. Cornman was the Supt. and he was succeeded by Edward Whitehead, now a Deacon of the Church. Some opposition having arisen, Peter Rittenhouse gave the church a lot of ground near the Birth-place of David Rittenhouse and a stone chapel was built which cost $5400.00, in which preaching and Sunday School services were held for some years. Quite a number were converted. The Park Commission having caused the removal of the factories near by, the population dwindled and the mission was finally abandoned.
The Chapel was dedicated November 18, 1869.
The Church disposed of the property in 1888.
