The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon
Page 113 contains Jellett's notes:
Fell relates that he knows little about the Wissahickon School. He does not remember Colladay, but does recall that the last teachers at the school were women.
A Mrs. Rodbond relates to Jellett that she remembers two male teachers - Colladay and another man (unknown). The school population was approximately 40 pupils, and the school contained two rooms - the upper room and the lower (or primary) room. She suggests that much teaching was not attempted and that the pupils did much as they pleased.
Jellett relates the names of some pupils he remembers as John ??? and Mary and Jesse Fowler. He also recalls that Colladay (the teacher) lived at Blue Bell Hill (at one time).Collection
