Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon Page 138 contains two photographs: (a, top) This photograph is labeled "Farimount Park - Lincoln Drive, above Wissahickon Avenue". The photograph shows Lincoln Drive as a paved road in the foreground extending and curving into the distance. Trees/foliage line both sides on the Drive. It would appear that Wissahickon Avenue ends at the Drive and can be seen at the bottom left. Two signs can be seen at the bottom left hand corner and a street lamp is visible at the bottom right of the photograph. (b, bottom) This photograph is labeled "Fairmount Park - View on Lincoln Drive". The view shows Lincoln Drive to the right. The road meanders into the distance and a horse-drawn carriage is visible on the road and people can be seen walking on the path that borders the Drive. To the left, the Wissahickon Creek meanders and falls over a stone wall (over which a footbridge has been erected) and continues its path into the foreground. Two figures can be viewed on the rocky bank of the creek in the left foreground.
