Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 3 -The Wissahickon Page 147 contains an illustrated drawing by Jellett entitled "Waterworks Woods - Part donated to the Park by H. H. Houston". Jellett had dated this as 3-18-1894. The drawing is somewhat detailed; however, it does not contain a detailed listing of road/street names. At the top (left), Jellett has identified "Blue Bell Hill". Immediately below the Blue Bell Hill designation (running perpendicular to the page) are two double lines representing Walnut Lane and the Walnut Lane Bridge. The two double lines running vertical to the page from Blue Bell Hill would represent Township Line (Wissahickon Avenue). A rectangle with an X is seen in the middle of the illustration, mostly likely indicating Houston's donation. Through this "X", running from the upper right to the bottom left, the next set of double lines would represent Paper Mill Run. The next set of double lines below Paper Mill Run would represent Lincoln Drive. The bottom set of double lines running perpendicular to the page is Rittenhouse Street.
