The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 5 -The Wissahickon
Page 9 contains three photographs:
(a, top) This photograph is labeled "Philadelphia - OId Monastery, Wissahickon". The photograph shows a view of the Monastery. On the side, many windows have been replaced with stone and a two story extension with a large chimney is visible. A section of the first floor porch can be seen. Likely, this view is from the rear.
(b, middle) This photograph has a "blueish tint" and shows the Monastery building at a distance. The building is set atop a low hill and beneath it is a low stone wall. The "landmark" four windows on each story do not appear evident on the side of the building.
(c, bottom) This photograph also has a "blueish tint" and shows a side view of the structure (The Monastery). The first floor porch with supporting columns is visible. On the second and third stories there are only three windows, the fourth window having been removed and replaced with stone. The house is surrounded by large, mature trees.Collection
