The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 1- The Wissahickon
Page 49 contains handwritten notes of Jellett on white lined note paper. These notes are entitled "Bob Fell" and are dated April 30, 1905. This page is actually double-sided and needs to be turned over to reveal the back side. Jellett relates a walk along the Wissahickon with Bob Fell and recounts various stories/tales that Fell related about the history of the area and the inhabitants and old buildings. Jellett recalls several instances where Fell remembered old structures which have long since been demolished and people associated with specific places along the Wissahickon. Jellett mentions that in speaking with Fell, he (Jellett) always learned something new about the area.
The prominent feature of the reverse side is a hand drawn map of the Wissahickon at Thorpe's Lane and several houses and mills located in the area with directional arrows pointing to both Chestnut Hill and Roxborough.Collection
