Page 53 contains three postcard photographs:
(a, top) This photograph is inscribed: "Valley Green Inn, Wissahickon Drive, Philadelphia". It shows a side view of the Inn standing along the Drive (seen in the foreground). A canopy of trees dominates the background view.
(b, middle) This photograph is inscribed: "Valley Green Hotel, Wissahickon, Philadelphia, Pa.". This photograph shows the Inn and more of the low stone wall beside the Inn. At the right is visible a portion of the low roof building which appears to be a horse stable. On the left side of the Drive can be seen a gas lamp and several benches.
(c, bottom) This photograph is inscribed: "Philadelphia - Series No. 23. 'When the leaves begin to fall'. Valley Green Inn on the Wissahickon Drive." This is likely a photograph of an artist's rendition of a scene. It shows the Valley Green Inn on the left with many people congregated on the Inn porch. Much "traffic" can be seen on the Drive in the form of horse drawn carriages and wagons. A horse can be seen on the left at a "watering hole". The scene depicts early Autumn as some trees are seen with leaves of brown and gold colors. Dead leaves can be seen along the Drive on both sides in the foreground.Collection
