The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 1- The Wissahickon
Page 54 contains handwritten notes of Jellett on white lined note paper. These notes are entitled "Bob Fell" and appear to be a continuation of Notes started on page 53 (see catalog number 2013.34.1.53). It should also be noted that this page is double sided and needs to be turned over to reveal the reverse side. Jellett further recounts his meeting with Bob Fell and additional information Fell shared with him. Fell relates more information about old mills on the Wissahickon and names of individual families (Greenwood, McDonald, Rigg). Fell relates a story of a domestic dispute which is humorous. Fell also mentions that the old Wissahickon bridges were built low to the stream and were difficult to navigate when the stream was high (especially for those unfamiliar with them). At the bottom of the reverse side of the page is a small drawing of the Wissahickon and a bridge showing two wood (?) girders underpinning the bridge which is low to the water.Collection
