The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 7 -The Wissahickon
Page 63 contains a newspaper clipping entitled: "Women Leaders In The Smart Set Are To Pose As Hosts At The Remodeled Valley Green Inn". Jellett has inscribed, in pencil, the date 1901 and the words "North American" (presumably a local newspaper). The article relates that the Valley Green Hotel has been remodeled/renovated and that prominent society women have taken over management of the building. Photographs at the top of the article show Mrs. Alexander Williams Biddle, an older view of the building (before the words "Valley Green" were painted on the side wall) and a later view of the building (where the words "Valley Green" can be seen on the side wall).Collection
