(a, overlay) This printed postcard is addressed to: Mr. Marriott G. Morris, 131 W. Walnut Lane, (Gtn.) Phila., Pa. The postcard announces Coaching in the Upper Wissahickon Valley on Saturdays and Sundays at 4 PM under the auspices of The Friends of the Wissahickon. The trip costs one dollar per person from the stables at Northwestern Avenue and Germantown Pike to Monastery Avenue and return. The postcard is inscribed in pencil with the date of 1933.
(b, underneath the overlay, affixed to scrapbook page) This photograph has a typed caption: "Valley Green Hotel by Russ. 1904". The photograph shows the Valley Green Hotel (the words "Valley Green" can be seen painted on the side wall above the second story window). Two men are seen standing on the dirt path immediately in front of the hotel, while a yound girl can be viewed standing on the porch. A low stone wall extends from both sides of the building out of camera range of the photograph. In the foreground is a bench.Collection
