The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 1- The Wissahickon
Page 60 contains handwritten notes of Jellett on white lined note paper. These notes are entitled "Bob Fell" and appear to be a continuation of Notes started on page 53 (see catalog number 2013.34.1.53). It should also be noted that this page is double sided and needs to be turned over to reveal the reverse side. This page of notes is dated March 12, 1905.
Jellett recounts a story he learned from Fell about Sand's "abuse" by one of his sons. Fell was called for assistance, and found Sands shaking from his illness and berated by his son demanding money. This apparently was a common occurrence. Fell also mentioned Thorpe and Bishoff's mills. Fell also related obtaining the corner stone when Rittenhouse mills was demolished and placing the stone under his guard box; however, the guard box was moved to another location and the corner stone was never located again. Fell also related that the "little house with blue shutters" at Ridge Road and Kitchen's Lane was the birthplace of Mayor Cunrad.Collection
