Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 7 -The Wissahickon Page 126 contains two photographs: (a, front) This photograph has a hand written caption of "Indian Rock". This photograph shows a side view of the Indian Statue atop Indian Rock. A semi-circular fence encloses the statue from behind. The Indian is clad in a full headdress and is pictured in a crouched position with his right hand shielding his eyes as he peers into the distance. (b, reverse) This photograph has a hand written label which reads: "Pathway Along Wissahickon". The photograph shows a level path cut through the hillside. To the left, the hillside descends into the valley floor. To the right, the hillside ascends. The path continues into the distance and fades out of camera range. In the right foreground is a plain wooden bench. Trees and vegetation frame the picture background. At the bottom of this scrapbook page is the handwritten pencil inscription attributing both photographs to Philip H. Moore.
