The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 7 -The Wissahickon
Page 132 contains a newspaper photograph with the caption "Tedyuscung Statue". Jellett's handwriting attributes the photograph to the Germantown Telegraph of 7-3-1902. In this photograph the statue is holding a bow which rests on his left forearm. The statue also rests on a somewhat elevated stone pedestal. The photograph on this scrapbook page conforms to the image on the printed formal invitation found in this scrapbook on page 128. It should be noted however that photographs of the actual statue place atop Indian Rock show differences. Those differences center on the fact that the "crouching" figure of the Indian appears to rest atop a much lower base which does not resemble a pedestal. It should be acknowledged that none of the photographs show a close up of the statue base, so this difference cannot be positively identified. Additionally, the statue cradles a tomahawk in his lap, with his left arm gripping the wooden base of the tomahawk. He is not gripping a bow. Those differences cannot be reconciled from information found in this scrapbook to this point.Collection
