(a, left column) This newspaper clipping is entitled "Our Own 'Tedy'". The author recounts that the old wooden Indian figure which sat atop Indian/Council Rock was transported to the rear of the old Concord Schoolhouse where it sits with other Germantown relics. The author acknowledges the "permanent nature" of the new stone statue, but reflects the loss of the old wooden figure and all that it represented in a "long lost" past.
(b, right-most two columns) This printed article (attributed by Jellett to the Germantown Telegraph of 7-3-1902) is entitled "Tedyuscung Statue". The article recounts the formal dedication of the new statue and the presentation of said statue to the Fairmount Park Commission. It also briefly recounts the legends of the Indian chief and his relationship with the Wissahickon.Collection
