William J. Campbell, President of the City Historical Society was asked to give a ten minute address to the Society. He chose as the topic: "Two Abandoned Mill Dams of Wissahickon and Their Associations". He did so in the event he did not have time to prepare formal notes on this topic, he already knew enough about the subject to be able to speak extemporaneously. That he did and was subsequently asked to preserve a record of his remarks. In so doing, he enlarged upon his initial short presentation and developed a full written presentation to include a listing of all mills on the Wissahickon, all abandoned mills , as well as the stream topography.Collection
