Page 10 contains the following:
(a, top) Two columns of a newspaper article from the Ambler Gazette of August 1906 describe the St. Joseph Convent, located within the city limits of Philadelphia, but bordering on the Springfield Township, Montgomery County line. Today (2013) that land is the site of Chestnut Hill College, 9601 Germantown Avenue, Phila PA. The Convent (and the College) were/are owned and operated by a Roman Catholic order of nuns, The Sisters of Saint Joseph. The article author relates the history of the area, as well as geographical/historical features of the land and the individuals involved with ownership of the property(s), and how the Sisters came into possession of the land.
(b, bottom) Jellett's notes relate to Ely's Grist Mill, located immediately east of Germantown Road. Joe M. (?) related to Jellett that Bob Fee remembers it, but on asking Fee, Fee told Jellett he knew nothing of it.Collection
