Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 9 -The Wissahickon Page 27 contains two sets of Jellett's notes: (a, top) F - Keyd….. Saw Mill. Jellett's handwriting is almost impossible to decipher; however, he appears to be noting a specific saw mill located on a small stream, somewhere in Springfield/Whitemarsh townships. The words "Bethlehem Pike" and "Chestnut Hill Park" can be discerned. Unfortunately, nothing additional can be interpreted to form a coherent account of Jellett's notes about this Mill. (b, bottom) Jellett's notes are entitled "Erdenheim". Snippets of handwriting can be discerned to indicate that the term "Erdenheim" is Welsh. The names Kittson and Carson are cited as possible owners(?) Also mentioned is that it was a former (?) stock Farm and the place where "Iroquois", an American horse who ran in an English Derby was born and raised.
