Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 9 -The Wissahickon Page 35 contains a photograph which has a typed caption that reads: "Cleaver's Mill, Whitemarsh Township". This photograph shows the Cleaver Mill at a much closer angle than the photograph found in this volume on scrapbook page 33 (2013.34.9.33). The unpaved lane is seen to the left. The "split-rail" fence can be seen to the right. In the background, the mill is seen as a large, three story stone (?) building with an overhang in the front at the top of the first story. At the second and third story levels an open doorway is visible. A sign is affixed to the front of the mill between the second and third story levels. Smaller outbuildings are located on either side of the mill building. Three dormer windows can be viewed built into the side of the roof line. Trees are seen behind the mill building.
