Description

The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 9 -The Wissahickon Page 41 contains a photograph with a typed caption that reads: "Longstreth's Dam, from Comly Bridge, Whitemarsh Township". In the foreground are unpaved paths which branch out from the main path to the left and right. A triangular patch of grass is centered in the center foreground. A low stone wall extends the width of the photograph beyond the paths. Peering over the low stone wall, the Wissahickon can be seen in the center extending into the background. On the right, trees extend to the creek edge, while to the left, the bank is clear of trees/vegetation for some distance until a tree line appears. From the direction given in the caption, the photographer would have been standing on Comly Bridge, viewing the dam from atop the bridge.
