The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 9 -The Wissahickon
Page 42 contains Jellett's notes, as follows:
(a, top) These notes are entitled "Cleaver's Mill".
"Cleaver's Mill was first built by the Farmars. After followed Peter Robinson and his son Johnson Robinson who conducted it for a long time. William Dewees succeeded the Robinsons. The present mill was built by Nicholas Kline about the year 1800. Kline died in 1820. He was followed by Daniel Morgan, Daniel Bickel and Henry W. Schultz. Schultz heirs sold the place to Silas Cleaver about 1850." (E. Matthews(?) to E.C.J. 9-7-1905).
The above is a transcription of Jellett's notes. For some reason, this particular note was amenable to transcription.
(b, bottom) This note is entitled" Cleaver's Mill". This note is not amenable to a transcription due to the inability to decipher Jellett's handwriting. A reference to Flourtown (a local town in Springfield Township, not distant from the mill, noted as a center for flour distribution) can be discerned, as can the name Farmar.Collection
