Page 59 contains a photograph captioned (by Jellett) as: "Whitemarsh Toll House, PA., By E.C.J. 11-2-1902." Jellett's notes read as follows: "Whenever you pass this toll house, stop in to see the keeper, as he is a very agreeable man, is interested in the country about(?), and he knows a great deal about its history.' E.C.J.
The photograph shows a fairly "non-descript" two and one-half story building standing on the side of the road. Toll gates can be seen on either side of the road and are in the open position. Utility poles are seen extending into the distance.Collection
