The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 9 -The Wissahickon
Page 82 contains the following:
(a, top) Jellett's notes are entitled "Conrad's Auger Mill". "A short distance above Edward Farmar's mill, Sandy Run empties into Wissahickon (?) creek, and after(?) Sandy Run at Bethlehem Pike ??? ??? the auger mill of Conrad." The remainder of Jellett's notes is not clear enough to decipher.
(b, middle left) This newspaper clipping from the Ambler Gazette of 6-9-1904 relates the death of Albert Conard of Ft. Washington. In previous scrapbook pages, Jellett has referred to this name as Conrad, which apparently is incorrect, although this family name has endured many changes in spelling over the years as it became less "German" and more "Americanized". The article relates significant details about Albert Conard and his family. He was the owner of the auger mill in Ft. Washington and his family is directly descended from Thomas (Thones) Kunders, one of the original, thirteen founding families of Germantown.
(c, bottom right) Jellett's notes are entitled "Sandy Run". "Sandy Run rises near Willow Grove, to the east of ??? Station PRRR."Collection
