To the right and behind the horse are three men standing on the side of the path conversing. (b) is a small newspaper article (dated July 28, 1906) entitled: "Wissahickon Now Dry".. The article details the strange sight of an almost dry Wissahickon creek bed, after the creek was drained in preparation for road work to be completed on the Wissahickon Drive. The draining exposed the myraid "relics" to be found on the creek bed and occasioned hundreds of men and boys to form an "army" of relic hunters. (c) is a small newspaper article entitled: "Draining the Wissahickon" (dated July 28, 1906). The article details the opening of sluice gates on the creek above Ridge Avenue to drain the creek in preparation for the construction of a retaining wall necessary for the widening of Wissahickoin Drive. The wall is likely to be completed by October.
