The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 1, Part 2- The Wissahickon
Page 141 contains a photograph with a typed caption: "Wissahickon Hall. Photograph by John Redles, 1906" This photograph was taken in WInter as snow can be seen. The view is looking north on Wissahickon Drive with the creek on the left bordered by a wooden post fence. Wissahickon Hall can be seen on the right amid the trees. It is a three story building set against the hill with a cupola atop the building and "wrap-around" porches on both the first and second levels. These porches are adorned with fretwork columns and extend to both sides of the building. Two tall brick chimneys extend above the third floor roof line. The Drive contines past the front of Wissahickon Hall and continues to wind into the distance. It should be noted that Wissahickon Hall stands today (2014) although currently unused.Collection
