The Edwin C. Jellett Series of Scrapbooks, Volume 1, Part 2- The Wissahickon
Page 175 contains two photographs:
(a, top) This phiotograph contains a typed caption: "Buttonwood Tree, near Second Hotel, 1907." This photograph shows a buttonwood tree on the bank of the Wissahickon. Actually, the photograph shows two large trunks which may/may not be part of the same tree. On the oppostie bank of the creek is a wooden fence which separates the bridle path (?) from the creek bank. None of the trees are in bloom suggesting the photograph may have been taken in late Winter/early Spring.
(b, bottom) This photograph has a typed caption: "Record Almanac." On the bottom of the photograph itself is the caption: "On the Wissahickon." The photograph shows two men (one standing, the other sitting) alongside a wooden fence that separates the path from the creek and creek bank. The opposite bank is visible in the background. The trees and foliage are in bloom suggesting late Spring/Summer season.Collection
