Description

Thorpe's dam along the Wissahickon. Cascade of water over a rocky dam that appears to be topped by a wooden walkway(?). Small flow of warewr entering at the base of the dam could be from the mill race. To the right of the dam a horizontal structure shows. It might be another walkway. Season: winter or early spring. No leaves on trees. Inscription on back: "MWharton Jan'y 25th. 1880. Also date Dec.7th 1879.
