This photograph shows a view of the Market Square and the Market Square Presbyterian Church located at 5507-5513 Market Square/Germantown Avenue. In the foreground is the Civil War Monument in Market Square - an elaborate stone monument topped by a soldier. The monument is surrounded by an elaborate fence joined by stone columns. Also visible is a cannon. Beyond the Square and the Monument is the Market Square Presbyterian Church - a stone edifice designed in the Romanesque style with a prominent rounded arch enclosing the main entrance. A tall tower topped by a large steeple with open rounded arches is a major feature of the Church. A turret is attached to one end of the tower structure. A large "Rose Window" is located over the main archway. Ornamental stonework compliments the exterior architecture. To the left and right of the Church are houses along the Square.
