Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 131
Photograph: Please see notes for captioning and other information. This photograph shows a view of St. Luke's Episcopal Church located at 5411 Germantown Avenue. The photograph shows the church building constructed of stone in the Gothic Revival style. The most prominent feature of the church building is the bell tower which rises above the main church roof. The entrance door is arched and surrounded by an arched stone lintel. Stone butresses support the tower base on all sides. The top portion of the tower has arched columns protected by "vents" which house the bells. The top of the tower has an ornamental "projection" at each corner. A smaller tower is visible at the left which would form the interior altar portion of the church. To the right of the bell tower is a "wing" projecting at right angles to the main church building. A rose window is visible above the porte-cochere. A paved path leads up to the porte-cochere and a brick path is seen leading up to the front entrance of the bell tower. A plot of grass is visible in the immediate foreground.
