Photographs from Photo Scrapbook 1, Part 2, Page 98
Please see notes for captioning information. This photograph shows a front and side view of the Keyser House, located at 6205 Germantown Avenue. The house is a two story stone structure with at least one dormer window built into the roof line. (Most likely there is a second dormer window obscured by the shade trees in the photograph). Windows on both stories are framed by shutters. There is an overhang above the first floor running the width of the house. There are a number of stone steps built parallel to Germantown Avenue and topped by a full length railing leading up to the front door. A bulkhead has been built atop a low stone wall and underneath two of the first floor windows. To the left of the bulkhead stairs lead up to the side of the property. A portion of the adjacent house (separated by a small side yard) is visible on the left. On the right, a low stone wall surmounted by an open metal fence allows a view of houses along the side street (East Tulpehocken Street). A man is seen standing in the street in the foreground with hoses on the ground, possibly indicating some repair work. Another man is visible standing on the pavement leaning on the low stone wall and fence.Photograph Details
